I usually reply within 2 working days.

For purchase problems, also include your Apple order ID. You'll find it on the receipt email Apple sent you, or at reportaproblem.apple.com after signing in.

Never send your card details, Apple Account password or verification codes. I never need them and will never ask.

Purchases

How do I restore my purchase?

If you've bought the Lifetime Unlock before, on this or another device:

  1. Make sure you're online.
  2. Make sure this iPhone is signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy it (Settings app → your name → Media & Purchases).
  3. In Siciliapp, open the Settings tab.
  4. Tap Restore purchases (just below the "Go Premium" card).
  5. You'll see "Purchases restored." and the premium decks open.

What the messages mean:

  • "No purchase found for this Apple ID." — the Apple Account on this device has no Siciliapp purchase. Check you're signed in with the account you bought it on. You can check your purchases at reportaproblem.apple.com. Still stuck? Email me with your order ID.
  • "Couldn't restore. Check your connection and try again." — the app couldn't reach the App Store. Try again on a working connection.

If you don't see a Restore purchases row, your purchase is already active: the card at the top of Settings says Premium — Every deck is yours.

My premium decks show as locked, but I paid

Your purchase isn't lost. Siciliapp only opens premium decks when it can confirm the purchase. It checks each time you open or return to the app. If it can't check (for example, you're offline right after reinstalling), it plays safe and shows them locked until it can.

  1. Connect to the internet and reopen the app.
  2. If they're still locked, go to Settings → Restore purchases.
  3. Still locked? Email me with your Apple order ID.
I was charged, but the decks are still locked
  1. Check the purchase finished: your Apple receipt email should have arrived. If the charge is still pending (or waiting for Ask to Buy approval), it will complete on Apple's side first.
  2. Make sure you're online, then go to Settings → Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account that paid.
  3. If that doesn't work, email me with your order ID and I'll look into it.

If a purchase fails inside the app you'll see "Purchase didn't go through — Nothing was charged."

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me — Apple takes the payment and I never see your card details. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in, choose I'd like to → Request a refund, then pick Siciliapp. Apple's guide: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple.

Is it a subscription?

No. The Lifetime Unlock is a single, one-time payment. Nothing renews and there's nothing to cancel. There are no ads.

Can my family use my purchase?

If Family Sharing is available for your purchase, family members in your Apple Family Sharing group can unlock it too: on their device, open Settings → Restore purchases. Whether a purchase can be shared is set by the App Store listing and your family's sharing settings.

I've got a new phone, or I reinstalled the app

Your purchase comes with your Apple Account: install Siciliapp, then tap Settings → Restore purchases.

Your study progress is different — it lives on the device (see below). It only comes with you if you set up the new phone from a backup or transfer of the old one.

Your progress and data

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every card is built into the app, and studying never needs a connection. Siciliapp only goes online to check, buy or restore your Lifetime Unlock, using an anonymous ID. It checks when you open the app, when you come back to it, and when you open the Lifetime Unlock screen. Offline, those checks simply wait.

Where is my progress stored? Can I back it up or move it?

Your cards, review history and schedule are stored in a database on your device only. There's no Siciliapp account and no cloud sync, and I can't see or recover your progress.

  • Your progress is normally included in your iPhone's iCloud Backup or computer backup, like other app data. Setting up a new iPhone from that backup (or transferring directly from your old one) should bring it across.
  • It does not sync between devices, and deleting and reinstalling the app starts it fresh (on the device itself). Copies may remain in your iCloud or computer backups of the device until those backups are replaced or deleted.
  • Your "Cards per session" choice isn't included in backups; just set it again.
What's the difference between "Reset progress" and "Reset everything"?

Both are in Settings → Your data, and neither can be undone.

  • Reset progress — "Forget every review, keep the decks." Every card goes back to the start.
  • Reset everything — "Back to a fresh install." Decks, cards and progress are reset. You'll need to tick "I understand there's no undo" and tap Erase everything.

Neither affects your purchase.

How do I delete my data?
  • Your study data: delete the app. That removes its database and settings from your device. Copies inside existing iCloud or computer backups stay until those backups are replaced or deleted. In iCloud you can manage which apps are backed up in your iCloud storage settings.
  • Purchase record: RevenueCat, the service that checks purchases, keeps a record under a random ID that isn't linked to your name or email. To have it deleted, email me with your Apple order ID so I can find it. Apple keeps its own record of your purchase, which you can see at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Emails to me: ask and I'll delete our conversation.

Full details are in the Privacy Policy. See also the Terms of Use.

The app and its Sicilian

Is there audio?

Not yet. Version 1.0 is text only.

A card is wrong, or my family says it differently

Please tell me! Siciliapp teaches the Sicilian of Messina and the area around it, and Sicilian changes from town to town, sometimes street to street. Email me the card (the Sicilian and the English), what you'd say, and where you or your family are from. Corrections from people who speak it are how the decks get better. Grazzii!

Is there an Android version?

Not at the moment. Siciliapp is only on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone or iPad running iOS / iPadOS 15.1 or later.
